Giving Back in 2022

As a B Corp, New Leaf Paper recognizes that the stakeholders in a corporation go beyond its employees and shareholders. The environment and the communities in which a company operates in are also interested in how business is conducted. It’s not enough to generate profits, there must be a benefit that spans far beyond the bottom line. In 2022 New Leaf Paper donated over $65,000 to nonprofits committed to environmental sustainability missions and/or community enrichment, including the Gettysburg Nature Alliance, The American Chestnut Foundation, One Tree Planted, and Trees for Tomorrow.

One of the many advantages of working for a B-Corp is the ability for employees to use work time to give back to the community through volunteer work throughout the year. In 2022 alone, NLP employees contributed 260 hours of service to local organizations. Additionally, in December, employees of New Leaf Paper were given the opportunity to divvy up a portion of the year-end profits to donate financial gifts to these organizations, plus other non-profits they care about, and deliver them personally.

“As a certified B-Corp, we are committed to a sustainability mission,” said New Leaf Paper President Shannon Bone. “One of the things we are most proud of is our accountability—we don’t just say we are sustainable; we live our mission every day. Our mission produces real-world results–and our support of deserving nonprofits is a tangible example of those results.”

New Leaf Paper is proud to contribute to the communities where we live to help make a better future for all.
