Why do recycled papers cost more than a virgin sheet?

Because a product is more environmentally friendly does not mean it is going to be less expensive. There are different processes such as sorting, removing adhesives, pulping, de-inking and manufacturing that it takes to recycle and reproduce a product with recycled material compared to creating a new product without the recycling process. Recycled paper costs more because of the beneficial recycling that takes place. That investment is an investment in our planet’s future.
